A4ID seeks to improve the rule of law by strengthening law, institutions, and practices. A4ID supports government institutions and organisations working on issues of rule of law by facilitating pro bono legal support to strengthen their capacity, enabling them to improve the rule of law.
Programmes and Partnerships
Rule of Law Expertise (ROLE UK) Programme
The ROLE UK Programme works towards strengthening the rule of law and improving access to justice in FCDO-priority countries by supporting partnerships to provide high-quality pro bono legal and judicial expertise.
KAZA Legal Expert Network Project
Through our Illegal Wildlife Trade Programme in the Kavango-Zambesi (KAZA) region in Southern Africa, A4ID works with local and international partners to strengthen cross-border legal cooperation, provide critical legal expertise to those fighting wildlife crime, and support communities to uphold the rule of law while protecting their natural heritage.
By enabling access to pro bono legal assistance, we help governments, NGOs, and community-based organisations build legal frameworks that defend ecosystems, support livelihoods, and advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
