As AI tools become more widely available, legal professionals increasingly need to understand not only what these technologies can do, but also how to use them responsibly and effectively.
A4ID is partnering with the Continuing Legal Education Institute in Pakistan and the Pakistan Bar to deliver a virtual training programme to provide a practical introduction to AI for lawyers, helping participants build confidence with emerging technologies and understand their impact on the future of legal practice

Designed for lawyers with little or no prior experience of AI, this interactive programme moves beyond theory to focus on practical applications. Participants will explore widely used AI tools, including large language models such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, and learn how they can support legal research, drafting, document review, and case preparation. Through real-world examples and demonstrations, participants will discover how AI can help improve efficiency while maintaining the critical legal judgment that clients and courts rely upon.
While AI offers significant opportunities, it also presents important risks. The programme will help participants understand the potential limitations of AI systems, including issues relating to accuracy, reliability, confidentiality, and bias. Lawyers will gain practical guidance on how to assess AI-generated outputs, avoid common pitfalls, and ensure that the use of AI remains consistent with professional and ethical obligations.
The programme brings together international and Pakistani legal professionals to provide a balanced and practical learning experience. Participants will benefit from the insights of lawyers with experience in legal innovation and AI adoption in international practice, alongside local experts who can contextualise these developments within Pakistan’s legal and regulatory environment. This combination of expertise ensures that discussions remain relevant, realistic, and applicable to everyday legal work.
