Due to the current financial situation, a large number of lawyers, including newly qualified, junior and senior, are unemployed or taking extended leave. Many such individuals are looking for volunteering opportunities in which they can use their legal skills. Given this potential resource, and the need expressed by many of our Development Partners, A4ID has put together a directory of organisations with volunteering opportunities suitable for lawyers. It can be downloaded below. This is an extension of the previous list aimed at more junior lawyers.

A4ID will not play a role in the selection and vetting process. Each interested lawyer should deal directly with the listed contact person, apply in whatever way the organisation stipulates and make arrangements with them. We are simply providing the list of potential opportunities. All of the placements require the volunteer lawyers to pay their own expenses. The directory will be updated over time and opportunities will be removed as we hear that they are filled.
