A4ID offers a series of internships throughout the year, providing the opportunity for participants to use their skills to support A4ID's work and development.

 

 

1.             What will I be involved in as an A4ID intern?

 

Interns assist A4ID's Core Team and are responsible for a variety of tasks. Key areas of work include:

 

  • Conducting due diligence on new partners and in relation to new projects
  • Coordinating A4ID's know-how
  • Carrying out research
  • Drafting documents, articles, applications, correspondence
  • Assisting with member newsletters
  • Coordinating management of A4ID's online forum

 

2.            Criteria

 

A4ID expects its interns to be able to demonstrate the following:

 

  • Commitment to A4ID's aims and work
  • Professionalism and dedication to the role
  • Self motivation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 

Interns should be:

 

  • Hardworking
  • Self Aware and Open Minded
  • Ready for a challenge
  • Interested in pursuing a career in Law and/or Development

 

3.            How does it work?

 

  • Location - Interns are based within A4ID's offices in central London
  • Costs - At present A4ID's interns work on a voluntary basis and no expenses are paid
  • Timings - We ask interns to commit to working for A4ID for between 3 and 5 days each week

 

Interns are expected to work 8 hours per day between 9:30am and 5:30pm with an hour for lunch. Working hours are flexible and can be changed at the discretion of the Core Team to suit travel or child care commitments.

 

Internships are held throughout the year as follows:

 

  • Beginning September - End December
  • Beginning January - End May
  • Beginning June - End August 

 

4.            Application Process

 

If you would like to apply for an internship, please submit your CV and covering letter to Alex Marseglia at info@a4id.org.  Your covering letter should include the following:

  • why would you like to work with A4ID
  • highlight your interests/experience in the international development field
  • what could you bring to the role
  • what do you hope to get out of the internship
  • your availability for work

 

Applications will be considered as follows:

 

  • For internships commencing in June, 1st April
  • For internships commencing in September, 1st July
  • For internships commencing in January, 1st November

 

After applications are reviewed, candidates will be informed as soon as possible whether we are able to invite them to interview. Interviews can take place at A4ID's offices or over the phone for candidates based outside of London.
