A4ID
Our Work
Introduction
In addition to facilitating the provision of international pro bono support, A4ID aims to enhance the wider legal community's knowledge and understanding of development issues and the difficulties facing the developing world.
- Through these A4ID raises awareness, shares ideas and addresses the controversies and complexities involved in both historical and contemporary issues.
- A4ID's events feature representatives from a range of groups including development institutions, non-governmental organisations, corporate entities, international law firms, the bar and the judiciary.
- A4ID aims to cover chosen topics from many points of view and to bring together the legal, business and civil society communities of the developed and developing world.
A4ID circulates details of external law and development related events to its membership on a weekly basis. A4ID strongly encourages its members to engage in learning more about development issues to identify where lawyers are best able to assist.
Such sharing of knowledge not only increases lawyers' understanding of A4ID's partners' positions, it also helps to bring together the legal and business communities of the developed and developing world.
